Overview:

A software sales development representative (SDR) at Aezion is a sales professional primarily responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential customers for a software company by generating leads through cold calling, prospecting, and other outreach methods, ultimately passing qualified leads to the sales team to close deals; essentially acting as the initial point of contact to gauge interest and determine if a prospect is a good fit for the software solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead generation: Actively search for and create a pipeline of potential customers through various channels like online databases, social media, networking events, and cold calling.
  • Qualifying leads: Conduct initial conversations with prospects to understand their needs, pain points, and determine if they are a good fit for the software solution.
  • Educating prospects: Explain the features and benefits of the software to potential customers, addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Setting appointments: Schedule meetings between qualified leads and the sales team for further discussion and product demonstrations.
  • CRM management: Maintain accurate information about leads and interactions within the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Reporting and analysis: Track key metrics like calls made, emails sent, qualified leads generated and provide insights to improve sales strategy.
